Taking scraps and turning it into fine art.

Patricia Whiddon has developed a keen eye for taking magazine scraps and turning them into works of art.  Using color as the key to tricking your eye into seeing what she would have you see, Patricia applies scraps of cut-up magazine pages to "paint" on her canvas of wood.

The process allows her to playfully hide pictures of objects that at first glace, appear as color applied to the canvas, but at a closer look, the objects leap off the canvas at you.  Her term for this unique technique is called "Paper Paintings".

The Canvas

All paper painting art pieces are on wood canvases.  Each canvas has a supporting back frame that is 1.5 inches thick.  Paper is applied to the canvas using glue and then the entire piece is coated with a UV protective varnish.  Art pieces should still avoid direct sunlight to maintain color brilliance.

All pieces are hand signed and are ready to display.
